COLLECTIBLE HOUDINI MIRROR CHALLENGE HANDCUFF REPLICA KEY Created by Mick Hanzlik © 2009

For many years, Mick has been researching one of Houdini's most challenging escapes, the Daily Illustrated Mirror Handcuff Challenge, of March 17th 1904.

A special handcuff taking over 5 years to develop was used by the Daily Illustrated Mirror to challenge Harry Houdini.

This handcuff had one of the most complicated locks ever used in a restraint. Houdini struggled with the handcuff, and finally released himself in just over one hour.

After studying photographs of the handcuffs and keys, and talking to experts who have seen and handled them, Mick finally has been able to produce a replica key for Houdini collectors.

The replica key is as accurate as possible, and originally was made by hand in his workshop. After considerable interest from collectors, Mick decided to produce a limited edition of 100  replicas, in a handsome custom made, jewelry-quality presentation case.

These replicas are precision cast in  white bronze, by a company who specializes in making high quality metal props for the Movie Industry.

The keys also come with a signed, numbered and dated Certificate of Authenticity, and a small booklet describing how Mick made the original replica.
