INSPECTABLE FULL-VIEW MAIL BAG©2006NO MORE "BEHIND-A-CURTAIN"! The Mail Bag escape has always been a great one for several reasons: "Packs small, plays BIG", its ability to pass examination, great tool to present as both a stage piece, as well as a Publicity Stunt/Media Event, etc. Unfortunately, it has also always been required to either effect the escape while hidden behind a curtain, or while partially obscured. UNTIL NOW!
This brand new original concept allows the escapist to do this: First, EVERYTHING can pass minute examination--the mail bag, lock, etc. Second, the performer demonstrates how the mail bag is constructed: Heavy-duty, two-tone canvas material, complete with several stainless steel grommets at the top. A long rope is laced through the grommets. Because of the unique design of the bag, NO PORTION OF THE ROPE IS ACCESSIBLE FROM THE INSIDE OF THE BAG OR HEM. Therefore, it is impossible to secretly grab the rope to obtain slack, etc. Next, an AUTHENTIC "U.S. MAIL" steel rope cincher is used to lock the rope in place (it even has "U.S. MAIL" stamped on the body of the cincher). Finally, a Master™ #175 Combination padlock is used to lock the cincher (and therefore, rope) in place.
Now, the performer asks a volunteer to secretly set the padlock to open to any four-digit combination. ONLY THAT SPECTATOR KNOWS THE COMBO, AND CAN OPEN THE LOCK. Now, the escape artist enters the mail bag, the rope is pulled tight, the cincher is fastened, and the padlock locked in place. THE AUDIENCE NOW WATCHES AS THE "MASTER LOCK-PICKER" GRABS THE PADLOCK THROUGH THE CANVAS MATERIAL AND BEGINS MANIPULATING THE FOUR DIALS! (See photo above). INCREDIBLY, HE IS ABLE TO SOMEHOW "PICK" THE COMBINATION LOCK RIGHT THROUGH THE MATERIAL, OPEN AND REMOVE THE LOCK, UNDO THE CINCHER, AND FINALLY OPEN THE MAIL BAG AND MAKE GOOD HIS ESCAPE!
Finally, this wonderful escape is ready for prime time and the 21st Century. Comes complete with everything required, including mail bag, rope, US MAIL cincher, padlock.
